Chase Tower
PIER: a vertical support which gives a building stability and strength. Piers are easy to spot. One way to find them is to look for the vertical elements framing entrances or windows that extend to a building’s base.
3 First National Plaza
Compare the unusual parabolic piers on the Chase Tower with the much more typical perpendicular piers on the Three First National Plaza building right across the street.
