CANTILEVER: a projecting structure, such as a beam, supported at only one fixed end.

At the right see a picture of a cantilevered roof at the entrance of Federal Center’s Dirksen Building, and below Frank Lloyd Wright’s famous cantilevered balcony at Falling Water.
